This course will be modified to the level of expertise in the audience and can be adapted in the classroom for multiple levels of experience and understanding.
Training Goals and Objectives
This course is specifically designed for the existing law enforcement or private security professionals who require an enhanced knowledge of the dynamics and responsibilities of conducting and maintaining courtroom security operations with an emphasis on high risk prisoner management. Further, this course provides a comprehensive exploration of contemporary security issues and events in and around the judicial system. Additionally, this course is designed to provide a solid understanding of security and methods of implementation as they pertain to the field of court security, prisoner management/control and transportation, liability issues, and general physical security operations.
The course will be directed at a multi agency/multi disciplinary approach to protective service operations. Several areas will be addressed; each area by itself is an area of expertise requiring detailed individual course instruction.
Training Audience, Format, and Content
This course either is limited to current law enforcement officers, private security specialists, and military personnel implementing a courtroom operations program or is currently engaged in security operations in and around the judicial system.
This course is most successful when taught and received with audiences of 40 officers or fewer, but has been given in groups of 100 or more with successful reviews. The smaller groups enable officers to have more direct dialog & contact with the instructors and the other students.
The course is designed in 2-day session involving the exploration of a different topics and the reinforcement of previous learned material. The course is generally designed to run from 0800 to 1700 hours daily, but can be manipulated for evenings and extended days as needed.
