The Taylor Group, Inc was founded in 1987 by Taylor Group, Executive Consultant Robert E. Taylor, Jr., while serving as a Officer within the Prince George’s County Government (Maryland). He sought to establish a boutique consulting and security firm combining public and private sector knowledge and experience to develop a unique offering for government and commercial clients.

In 2002, and after 40 years of service, Robert E. Taylor, Sr. joined The Taylor Group as President and Chief Operations Officer and Ethel R. Taylor joined as Vice President. Taylor, Sr. served as Clerk of the Board (Senior Executive Level 5) for the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board and earlier as Executive Officer and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Under-Secretary for Strategic Petroleum Reserve, GS-15 (U. S. Department of Energy, Washington, DC).

Ethel Taylor served as Chief Administrative Officer to the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, US Department of Health and Human Services. She provided overall administrative support to the White House Conference on Health as well as other health related organizations.

The Taylor Group’s original focus on training and risk management in the homeland security market was extended in 2005 as the firm expanded to provide risk and vulnerability consulting services and executive security and protection operations for overseas clients.

Re-incorporated in 2009, Robert E. Taylor, Sr. became the President and Chief Executive Officer. Anthony R. Taylor joined The Taylor Group as the Chief Operating Officer and partner. Tony, a recognized senior analyst, application developer and corporate strategist, has more than 19 years of varied experience from operations to executive leadership within the operations division of a major insurance carrier.

The firm has carefully recruited security and protection experts from both the public and private sectors, and The Taylor Group now offers a unique combination of expertise in VIP Protection, homeland security, critical infrastructure protection, emergency preparedness, information assurance, and provides strategic advice and counsel to government and corporate clients worldwide.
